Today, I’m thrilled to share some personal news: I’ve been appointed to the Whitman Parents Advisory Council at Syracuse University. It’s an honor to join this passionate group of individuals committed to advocating for students by providing a voice for their parents. As someone who deeply values education, leadership, and giving back, this opportunity holds special meaning for me.
Syracuse University has never been stronger. Enrollment, finances, fundraising, and alumni engagement are at their peak – a testament to the incredible leadership and vision of this institution. The recent Forever Orange Campaign is proof of this momentum, raising an extraordinary $1.5 billion to support groundbreaking initiatives.
But the achievements don’t stop there. Through its bold academic strategic plan, Syracuse has set itself apart from the nation’s elite universities, offering students not just world-class academics but transformative opportunities outside the classroom. From the innovative strategic housing plan designed to meet the needs of future generations to the partnership with JMA Wireless that has made Syracuse the most connected college campus in the country, the university is creating an experience like no other.
The Whitman Parents Advisory Council plays an essential role in achieving these ambitious goals. As a volunteer leadership group, we have the privilege of contributing to the success of not just the Whitman School, but Syracuse University as a whole. It’s a responsibility I take to heart, and I’m excited to collaborate with other members who share a passion for empowering the next generation of leaders.
As I reflect on this opportunity, I’m reminded of the transformative power of education and the value it has to my son Noah Lobdell, and the community at large. When students are equipped with the resources, experiences, and support they need, the ripple effect touches communities, industries, and the world. Syracuse University is doing just that – and more.
I’m incredibly grateful for this chance to contribute and give back to an institution that’s making such a profound impact. Together, we’ll work to ensure that Syracuse University continues to grow, inspire, and lead for generations to come.
To all the students, parents, alumni, and supporters – your involvement matters. Whether it’s cheering in the Dome, contributing to a campaign, or mentoring a student, every act of engagement fuels the Orange legacy. Let’s continue to elevate this university and the remarkable community that makes it so special.
