On Philanthropy
Philanthropy in Syracuse: A Personal Commitment
To us, philanthropy is more than just a word; it’s a deeply personal commitment to making a positive difference in the world. It’s about using our resources, time, and influence to support causes that resonate with our core values and beliefs. Our philanthropy in Syracuse is shaped by the people and organizations we are fortunate to know.
One such cause close to our hearts is mental health. Our personal experiences have underscored the importance of mental health awareness and support. We are dedicated to breaking down the stigma associated with mental health issues and advocating for better resources and support systems.
That same perspective shapes how we think about health, sports, and caregiving in Syracuse. In health, we support people and organizations that help families find care, understanding, and a better path forward. In sports, we value the discipline and belonging that come from being part of a team, and the way local programs give young people a place to grow. In caregiving, we support the people who care for others and often need support themselves.
Support can take many forms. It may be a gift, time spent with a group, or a conversation that connects good people to one another. We try to listen first, understand what an organization needs, and contribute in a way that is useful. We are grateful to the people who make these efforts possible across Syracuse and the surrounding communities.
We do not expect every contribution to look the same. Some causes need steady funding. Others benefit from volunteers, introductions, or people willing to keep a conversation going. The common thread is a belief that strong communities are built through participation, generosity, and care.
Through our philanthropic endeavors, we hope to inspire others to join us in creating a world where compassion leads to action, and action leads to change.
Approach
Philanthropic Philosophy
“At the heart of our philanthropic endeavors is a deep-seated belief in the power of empathy and action. We understand that each of us has a role to play in making the world a better place, and we are committed to doing our part. One focus we have is on mental health, a cause that has touched our family personally and profoundly. We believe in the power of awareness, education, and support to change lives and break the stigma surrounding mental health.
But our commitment doesn’t stop there. We are also supporters of many areas of need and other pressing issues in our community. We are committed to using our resources to make a meaningful difference and inspire others to do the same.”
