The Lobdell Center Named Among Top Mental Health Programs
The Lobdell Center Named Among Top Mental Health Programs By Becker’s Hospital Review
June 4, 2025
It’s one thing to build a center. It’s another to see it grow into a place where lives are truly changed.
Oswego Health’s Lobdell Center for Mental Health & Wellness at Lakeview has been named one of “36 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Psychiatry and Mental Health Programs” by Becker’s Hospital Review. While this recognition is significant, the heart of this moment lies in the people who have made it possible.
Mental health care carries weight. It is deeply personal, often invisible, and filled with complexity. Each individual who walks through the doors of the center brings a unique story, one that deserves to be met with understanding, dignity, and skill. The team at Oswego Health has made that possible day after day, and this recognition is a reflection of their steady commitment.
Our family’s involvement in helping establish this center was never about building a name. It was about opening a door. A door to care that is compassionate, consistent, and rooted in the belief that mental health is a fundamental part of overall well-being. That belief has been carried forward by an incredible team who bring it to life in every patient interaction and every decision made in service to others.
To Margaret Barclay, Michael Backus, Jamie Leszczynski, Kathryn Pagliaroli, and everyone at Oswego Health who has contributed to this mission, thank you. Your leadership and care have created a place where healing feels possible. Your work is changing lives in lasting ways.
I am also deeply grateful to my parents, Nancy and Vincent Lobdell. Their belief in showing up where help is needed has shaped so much of what this center represents. Their tireless effort to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health continues to open hearts and minds. I know my brother Rusty would have felt tremendous pride in this moment. His memory lives on in every step forward, and every person helped.
To the individuals and families who trust the Lobdell Center as part of their journey, we honor your courage. Seeking help is not always easy. But your decision to do so strengthens this mission and gives it meaning.
This recognition is not the destination. It is a reminder that people matter most. That showing up for one another, especially when life feels heavy, can be the beginning of real healing.
We are grateful to walk alongside a team and a community that believes in this work. And we remain committed to building a future where mental health is met with the care and respect it deserves.
