As a proud co-owner and local entrepreneur, I’m thrilled to share the journey of bringing Skan Ellus to life, a venture close to my heart and home.
The story of Skan Ellus is one of tradition and the epitome of Upstate NY summer. Nestled at the corner of Route 20 and Route 175, this historic ice cream stand has been a local staple, serving up ice cream and smiles for years. When the opportunity arose to breathe new life into Skan Ellus, my partners and I jumped at the chance, driven by a shared vision to preserve its legacy while elevating the experience for a new generation.
Our grand reopening was a wonderful moment. The community really came out for us. A standout moment was the honor of hosting Syracuse basketball legend Carmelo Anthony and his former college coach, Jim Boeheim. Their presence added to an already memorable day. Although Carmelo arrived fashionably late, his heartfelt words to the crowd, “We are all family here,” resonated deeply, encapsulating the essence of Skan Ellus as a community spot.
We’re committed to being a place where everyone can gather, share stories, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. To everyone who has supported us, visited us, or is planning to, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your enthusiasm and encouragement mean the world to us. Skan Ellus is your home as much as it is ours. Here’s to a future filled with laughter, love, and, of course, delicious ice cream.
In closing, I invite you to come and experience the magic of Skan Ellus. Whether it’s your first visit or a return to a cherished spot, we can’t wait to welcome you. Together, let’s make more memories, one scoop at a time.
Warmly, Vinny Lobdell
